Why Decorate and Clean Your Bedroom?
Posted on
As I was cleaning today, I thought I would write a quick post about one of my favorite things to do….cleaning! I will do a post on each room as I get time. I don’t have a housekeeper. I have hired one a few times, but, I have found that I really enjoy cleaning my house. I love keeping a schedule for my housekeeping. I have a feeling of great accomplishment when I have cleaned and everything is in order. Not to mention the money I save by cleaning my own house. Don’t get me wrong….there may be a time…
My Family Tree-It Starts With Me!

My last post was on my latest adventure of researching my family tree. If you missed it, you can click here to read that particular post. I’m beginning with my father’s side of the family first because it intrigues me the most right now. In my last post I said that I would begin with information that I have on my dad. After thinking about it, I figured I should start with myself. My brain thinks in an organized way, so I felt like if I’m working backwards, that I should begin with Moi. (that’s french for me….I think) If…
Who Was Before Me?

For the past several years, I have been very interested in genealogy. I know that there are many people that aren’t as interested in finding out about family members from times past. My husband is one of those. He just smiles that little smile when I start telling him my latest finds from ancestors that I never met. Thankfully, he is patient with me and endures my stories and even goes with me on hunts to far away places to track down the mystery of my interesting family. I came to this conclusion in our differences in delving into the…
Needed! School Supplies!

We visited a church yesterday and they announced that they had just filled 1,600 backpacks with school supplies for area children in need. They thanked all those that gave $20.00 to fill a backpack. They also thanked all the volunteers who filled each backpack with the needed supplies. It sounds like such a simple thing and we may even wonder if it really makes a difference. I think it does make a huge difference in a child’s life…of all ages. I have participated in helping to fill backpacks at my church and I’ve even organized events to do so. I…
Trying Hard to Love Social Media

Do you ever wish for the days when we didn’t have to carry a phone in our hands constantly? Do you miss carrying on a real conversation with someone or receiving real letters in the mail? If so, you are probably a “Baby Boomer” like me. Younger folks today can’t even comprehend how it was just a short time ago. But, we must keep up with the times and you have to admit, having our phones with us is great for safety and getting the answers we need quickly. I’ve been doing some thinking on this social media thing. I…
Cruisin’ Around Hawaii

In June we went on a Hawaiian Cruise and what fun it was! We did this same cruise a few years ago with my husbands family and enjoyed it so much. This was a Southern Gospel Music Cruise on the Norwegian Cruise Line. IMC Concerts and Inspiration Cruises were the sponsors of the Southern Gospel music groups that entertained with each evening for a couple of hours and also had an early morning devotional that was led by different members of the music groups. Out of 2,000 passengers on this cruise, 800 were onboard for the Southern Gospel concerts. It…
