Welcome Spring 2022

Spring is here! Today it was actually 100 degrees! It may be safe to say that summer is here. The part of Texas that I live in can be freezing weather one day and then hot the next. I’ve always wanted to live in an area that has actual seasons and slowly transitions into warmer or cooler weather. No sense in wishing….I need to be satisfied and learn how to adapt. You would think I’d be used to it by now after living in this part of Texas since I was 9 years old. All that to say; Happy Spring! The flowers are blooming and the grass is getting green and the air conditioner is running…..I’m a happy girl!

When I clean house each week, (yes, I’m one of the few that likes to clean her own house), I like to smile while cleaning. I’ve tried having someone come in to help me out in cleaning, but, I would just rather do it myself. I think of it as exercise and I like moving things around and making a few changes in decor. Sometimes simple little things like a cute succulent plant placed in the laundry room make me smile. I think the only thing that would make me smile a bit more is maybe a brighter little pot for them, but, it will do as it is for now. Maybe they will outgrow this pot….if they live!

I was given this rose today at lunch and as I got to studying it, I noticed it looked like a heart. I clipped the stem and put it in a little bud vase by my kitchen sink. Now that makes me smile!

On Easter I made a few arrangements with some Peeps that I had collected and some jelly beans. I love the look of Peeps and I even like the way they taste…very sweet. Making arrangements with them is even more fun. I made a few for some friends and family.

I’ve loved decorating “Beverly’s Tea Room” since my Jim finished building it for me. It’s a fun place to entertain friends and family and even just to go out and listen to some peaceful music and just look at the beauty outside the windows…..if we aren’t having a dirt storm. Remember, I’m in west Texas! Each time I pass the window and look out in the tea room, I smile. I’ve enjoyed decorating it. The Easter decor made me smile and now that the Easter decor is put away, I just set out a tea set.

I love Precious Moments! I have for many years and I have collected a few. When I saw this figurine, I had to have it. Yes, I smile every time I look at it. It’s called, “Mom, you are Tea-riffic.” Yes, I gave it to myself, what can I say?

Keeping up with fashion is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve noticed a trend on social media to always show what you wear each day or model an outfit, etc. As much as I love fashion and I love helping others with their color code and styles, I really don’t see how anyone has time to always take pictures of all their outfits each day and on top of that to look good enough to put yourself out there for everyone to see each day. As much as I love seeing others and seeing their daily style choices, I’ve decided that is just not for me. This photo will prove what I’m talking about. I had snapped this for someone who wanted to see what I looked like as I was heading to the dentist one morning. I was fearful to go and she was trying to encourage me to snap out of it and she said to get dressed and get out the door. Well, I did and this is it….it does make me smile in thinking of what a dear friend I have to help me snap out of my dentist fears! *I did shed a tear or two on the way, but, I made it! All was well and I have the best dentist ever. She is amazing. They said, “see you in July!” I said, “so soon?” I’ll share my dentist story soon….it’s a doozy….as everything else in my life is. Okay, back to things that make me smile….

We have a desert landscape in our front and back yard. This time of year the yuccas are blooming and are oh, so pretty….I waited a bit too long to take a photo as the blooms are about to drop off. This plant actually has a dove in the center that has built a nest and has little ones that she is protecting. Smart bird. A cat would be crazy to climb in that thing to get to the little ones. We have an adopted neighborhood cat named Cheddar that I think has his eye on that nest! Cheddar is a whole other story I will share soon. No, I’m not a cat person….so why is there always a cat around everywhere I go.

I love decorating my front doors each season. Since I have double doors, I do two matching wreaths. It could get expensive, so I go as cheap as I can as they will be full of dirt by the end of a couple of months. I found these wreaths at Sam’s for I think 39.99 each. I added the ribbon and I was happy with them. They make me smile… the price made me smile even more!

I love tulips. They make me smile! Since they make me smile, I thought, why not get my mom some for Mother’s Day! I think they made her smile, too!

Okay, I will wrap this up. I could go on and on about the things that make me smile. I will end with the latest addition to our grandkiddo line up. We now have 6 blessings and another blessing on the way this fall. She makes me smile big time and I have a feeling you will be smiling when you see this…..are you ready?

Until next time….keep smiling!

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

My Favorite Magazines!

Hey Pumpkin! I just love that saying! I’ve called my kids pumpkins since they were little. Now, I call my grandkids pumpkins. Just a cute name, don’t you think?

Are you loving your fall season so far?

I am a huge fan of magazine reading. I love decorating, cooking, fashion and faith filled magazines. I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you today. The articles and photos of decorating and food are really inspiring this time of year.

The price of magazines has really gone up the last few years. I’m amazed at what the prices are on some of them. I try to cut back and as soon as I try to be careful in my magazine buying, one comes out with the most amazing cover that just calls my name! I usually stick with the same titles. I’ve purchased some that look good, but then find out that I just wasted my money because the articles are not my cup of tea. An example would be fashion magazines. As you know, I love fashion. But, the articles and photos that they put in magazines usually aren’t what I’m looking for to be inspired by. So, more than likely I pass on fashion magazines. I’ve always thought that someone needs to start a fashion magazine for “real” people with articles that are decent and you wouldn’t be afraid for young girls to read. Let me know if you know of any.

Here are my latest finds and loves in the magazine world….

This is a brand new magazine and I love it. It is published by Dayspring, which is a greeting card company as well as gifts that are faith based.
This is a magazine that has excellent articles that inspire me to live for Christ. I love it!
If you are a fan of Hallmark and all that they have to offer along with their movies….you will love this one!
I love to sew…..granted, I haven’t sewn in quiet a while….but, I love reading sewing magazines and this is one of them. You never know, I may crank my machine up pretty soon!
What a fun magazine this is. All sorts of inspiration to make your own scrubs, lotions and sprays.
Who doesn’t love The Pioneer Woman! She shares all types of things about her life.
This is a beautiful decorating magazine! I discovered it about a year ago and I’ve loved every issue.
I always find something in this publication that inspires me to be more healthy.
I love the photos in Victoria! If Victoria is on it….I know I will love it! Published by Hoffman Media, which is my very favorite of all!
Another Hoffman Media publication. I don’t decorate Cottage style, but, I love reading this magazine. Beautiful photos and decorating inspiration.
Yep…..Hoffman Media again! I love these issues. Very inspiring in decorating.
I love this one! Tea Time has been a favorite of mine for many years now. Guess who publishes it? Hoffman Media! Anything they do is beautiful.
Southern Lady is at the top of my list! Again……say it with me….Hoffman Media. They publish this one, too! Gorgeous magazines. I just returned from The Southern Lady Celebration in Birmingham, Alabama and I will be sharing about it later this week.

I love beautiful photos and articles that are inspiring to me. If you are the same, I hope you will try some of these magazines and see what you think. Feel free to share you favorite magazines.

Thanks so much for following me on my blog. I love hearing from you in the comment section or by email.

Enjoy this beautiful season!

Beverly’s Favorite Things

How are you doing? Can you believe that April is just about over? I can’t! Time is clicking along, isn’t it? I do hope you have had a wonderful 4 months of 2019. We have so much to be thankful for….even when things don’t go smoothly. A good example is my moms recent accident. I wrote about it on my last post. I thank the Lord everyday that it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. She had seven stitches above her eye after a bad fall. But….no broken bones, no skull fractures, no pain! You read that right…no pain! The doctor ordered her a couple of medications and she didn’t even get them filled. She has some strong bones and a strong head. -wink

I thought it would be fun to do a quick little post of some of the latest things that I have purchased or ordered online and fallen in love with.

I love purses….but, it is so hard to find a really good purse that feels good as you carry it and doesn’t weigh too much on my arm. Plus, it has to look really cute.

I purchased this bag when we were in Hilton Head, SC a few weeks ago. I made my first visit to a store called Spartina! Yes, I fell in love with their bags and jewelry. I even bought a scarf that has pictures of Texas landmarks on it, not to mention a few pieces of jewelry. I’l share those another time. Click here to go to their site.

As I was walking through Dillards in Austin last weekend, I spotted a purse on the sale table. I couldn’t leave the store without it and I’ve really loved carrying it. It is lightweight and holds everything I need and the size is just right….as in baby bear’s comment in Goldilocks. Anyway…here is a link to the purse. I’m not able to copy and paste the picture from the site, so you will have to go check it out. Sorry about that! I got it in hot pink! 🙂

I am not a huge fan of salads. But….when I do eat a salad, I like it to be chopped as much as possible. I found this fun little gadget on Amazon. It works really good. You put all of your lettuce and veggies in the bowl and then just cut through all the little slits and voila….you have a chopped salad. Easy and no mess!

Also from Amazon, I purchased a digital scale. I’m ALWAYS working on weight loss issues it seems and when I read about this scale, I thought…this might help me stay motivated with all the bells and whistles. I used it first thing this morning. You set up your bluetooth and you will have all kinds of charts and graphs of things I have never even knew about. Let’s just say that after I weighed this morning…my eyes were opened to a couple of things that made me think…..I need to be more intentional and serious about this little project of mine. Or should I say, hobby. Does anyone get so tired of having weight issues hanging over your head? I sure do! The scale readings made me think more of health than actually losing weight to look better. Okay enough of that…we can talk weight issues later. Here is a link to the scale I purchased.

I’m always buying books. I read them and if I really loved them, I keep them and if I’m ready to say goodbye, I put the read books in a large basket designated for just books. I usually take them to the library and donate them and I recently was told that I should take them to a used bookstore and sell them. I may try that next time my basket gets full. Here is the last book I purchased. I haven’t read it yet, but I can’t wait to go through it. Click here to check it out on Amazon. I love organizing and I’m always attracted to organizing books!

I’m also a fan of beauty treatments. I know, you can’t really tell, but, I am! I’m always trying the latest when it comes to skin care, hair care and make-up. This is the last thing I purchased. Still trying it out. I’ve noticed that the older we get, our neck looks different. Or is it just me? Anyway, I purchased a neck serum off of QVC forever ago and my neck looks the same and I keep thinking, “when is this stuff going to run out?” I gave up and purchased this item. Click here to read about it. We will see how my neck looks when the jar is empty. -wink

A couple of years ago, I ordered a few things from this company. I was excited to hear that one of my favorite speakers in women’s ministry, Debbie Stuart, is doing an online Bible study with one of this company’s products. I ordered the book from Daily Grace Company and I look forward to doing the study.

Thanks for following along with me and reading about my latest purchases! I only share the things that I like. I don’t give negative reviews….if I don’t like something, I do away with it and never mention it again. Except for the never ending neck serum. It smells good and feels good….I just haven’t seen a difference. Maybe I’m not using enough and that is why it’s lasting FOREVER!

Until next time,

My Favorite Things-From Eyelashes to Precious Moments

Hi Friends!

I hope all is going well and you had a great weekend!

Today, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things!  In case you haven’t noticed, I have so many favorite things!  When I began using Pinterest , I had no idea how to label each board.  I ended up giving each board the title “iLove_____,”  simply because, I do love so many different things.  If you don’t follow me on Pinterest, I would love for you to do so.  I have to limit my time when pinning, one thing leads to another and another and another.  The timer on my phone comes in pretty handy.

Okay, now back to a few things I wanted to share with you today that I recently fell in love with. I wish I could insert the song, “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things,” as you read the rest of this post.  I love that song from the movie, “The Sound of Music,”  don’t you?  I end up singing it to myself at least once a week.

I have a friend who sells the skincare line from Rodan + Fields.  Check out her site here! So far, I have loved everything and this was one of my last purchases. (No, the Hydrating Serum was my last)  The Lash Boost really works.  You put it on your top lash line every night.  After about 5 weeks, I thought, “Wow, I think it did something!”  Here is a little picture I tried to take of my lashes since using this product.

That might not be too impressive, but for me, my lashes were hurting due to getting the lash extensions a while back.  My lashes had struggled ever since.  I really didn’t need lash extensions….I just thought it would be interesting to see what they looked like.  Plus, we were going on a cruise and that was my excuse…I wouldn’t have to worry about mascara.  You can read about my eyelash fiasco here.  Needless to say, I’m not a good candidate for lash extensions. It was me, not the lash extensions!

I recently discovered these chips from a friend who liked them.  Now, I’m a fan.  But what is even more fun are these little sliders that you put on your open bags.  I’ve always used clothes pins to close up chip bags and all the many bags that need sealing.  I saw these on QVC and they just came in and I LOVE them!  Click here to check them out for yourself.

I am a big Precious Moments fan.  I have a few of the figurines and when I saw this at DisneyWorld last April, I fell in love with them again.  I use this picture as my screen saver on my phone.  I know…crazy…what can I say?  By the way, I will be sharing our DisneyWorld trip in a few days.  What fun we had!  Also, have you ever been to the Precious Moments Chapel in Joplin, MO?  I love that place!  Click here to read more about it and make plans for you next getaway!

The last few months I have been trying a new make-up line. I had gone to a spa to get my eyebrows done and they shared this makeup with me and I have really liked it.  I had never heard of Jane Iredale before.  I have dry skin and it really feels good on my face.  I’ve loved the spray mist that you spray on after you finish putting all your make-up on.  Two thumbs up as they say! Click here to go to their site to see all their make-up.

I know!!! Contain yourself!  Aren’t these the cutest purses!!!!!  For my birthday this past May, my mom surprised me with this typewriter purse!  We had spotted it at a boutique and I wasn’t about to pay what it was priced at, but, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I was contemplating a good excuse.  I thought, “Wouldn’t this be adorable to take to a writer’s conference!”  I know!!!!  I was in shock when I opened this gift from my mom! (She always gives the best gifts!) The purse in the background is another one that  she gave me a few years ago.  That’s the purse I always say I’m going to take to the Kentucky Derby….if I ever get to go!  Click here to see more purses by Mary Frances.  By the way, check out the Cinderella Carriage purse and the camera purse.  Double squeal!!!! Let me know if you are a Mary Frances fan!

I’ll stop for now…I could go on and on about all My Favorite Things.  Thank you for dropping by and taking the time to read my latest.  I would love to hear if any of these items are on your list of favorites!

The Lord has allowed me to enjoy some really pretty places and things, but I always know that my joy doesn’t come from things.  My true inner joy comes from knowing Jesus Christ as my Savior.  I invited Christ into my life at the age of 14 and made Him Lord of everything in my life.  I pray that you know Him and He is Lord of your life.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope inHim!” Lamentations 3:24

*Note:  I am not getting paid for any of this….all my own reviews of items that I’m loving right now!

I also want to thank all the subscribers and readers of my blog!  You inspire me to keep writing!

Trusting you are having a great summer so far!

Blessings to you and your family,

My Online Favorites!

I have been reading blogs for several years now.  My favorite blogs are those that are inspiring and encouraging in my daily life.  I tend to be attracted to blogs that focus on Bible Study, Organization, Decorating, Fashion, Crafting and the list goes on and on.

Since I am interested in so many things, it was hard for me to focus in on one thing for my own personal blog.  I tend to write on whatever is on my heart, which can be anything at anytime.

I do subscribe to blogs, but I have had to be careful or my inbox is full with blogs to read.  I’m one of those that likes to see an empty inbox at the end of the day.

This post will have a permeant link that will list all of my favorite blogs and websites I enjoy visiting.  I will be adding to and taking away from this list regularly.  Not only will it be a help for you to be able to click on the blog/site that you would like to visit, but it will help me as well to have one place to go to when I have time to sit down and be inspired by reading all of the latest.

I would love to know how you handle the blogs you love.  Do you subscribe to your favorites or do you have a listing that you go by?  How do you manage your time in regards to visiting blogs/websites?

Here are some of my favorites.  They are not in any particular order.  I’m just listing as I go and trying to keep them all in categories.  Be sure to check back regularly to see newly added links.  Just look for the graphic in the sidebar to go directly to this page.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things!

Are you like me and you love to hear testimonials of products and things that other’s like.  Especially from close friends and family.  If they like it and they say it works, then we just have to give it a try.  I thought I would share with you a few things that I’m loving right now.

Before we get started, if you haven’t subscribed to my blog, I would be honored if you did.  I’m in the process of building my email list.  If you look to the right side of my blog you will see a box that you type your email address in.  Once I receive that, you will then receive an email whenever I write a new post.  I try to write 2-3 times a week.  Okay, sometimes it’s just one post a week.   That way you won’t miss anything and I hope to have some special things for my subscribers soon. I hope to encourage, inspire, inform and brighten your day.  Your email address is safe, trust me.

Okay, on to a few of my favorite things this week: (imagine the music playing from The Sound of Music; “My Favorite Things.”)  By the way….This movie is really one of my favorites!

I found this purse at TJ MAX the other day and just couldn’t pass it up.  First of all, it was polka dot, second it had a bow on it and finally, it was a glitter bow.  SOLD!  The brand is Betsey Johnson.  I am always drawn to her things.  I can always tell if something is a Betsey Johnson.

I found a set of teacups and saucers at a tea room a few years ago in Ruidoso, New Mexico.  Anything with a cameo will catch my attention.  This teapot is my favorite as well.  I made this bouquet of flowers for my mom today and I had to add the cameo on the box for the final touch.  Pink roses, cameo teacup, polka dot teapot.  Can’t go wrong with that!

For the past couple of years, I have been using this gel nail polish by Sally Hansen.  You don’t have to use a light.  You paint on two coats of the polish and then one coat of the clear.  It dries really fast, too! They have some beautiful colors and once I paint my nails, it will usually stay on for a couple of weeks.  My nails are strong with this polish on  and they look good for at least two weeks.  This color is one of my favorites.  I think it is called, Game of Chrome.  It’s a light gold sparkly color.

For maybe three years, I’ve been using this foot cream from Bath and Body Works.  I have really dry skin and my feet are just as dry.  Since I discovered this foot cream, my feet are always soft and never rough anymore.  I put it on every morning after my shower.  If you put sandals on right afterwards, you might want to wait or you will slide around in your shoes.  Let the lotion soak in for a bit.  You probably don’t need to ask my how I know this.

Anyone that knows me well, knows I love Little Debbie cakes.  Each holiday, I have the hardest time resisting these things.  If you are working on your weight, you might want to be careful as these hearts are 290 calories.  If you are doing the Weight Watchers program, that would be 13 points.  If you have, let’s say 30 points you are allowed to eat each day…13 points is almost half of your day.  Don’t ask me how I know this one either.  But, aren’t they oh, so cute and yes, yummy!

I found this cute sign at Hobby Lobby.  I couldn’t resist!  I love glitter, so it caught my eye.  These little note cards are adorable.  When I go to Michael’s Crafts, I always check the $1.50 bin.  They always have the cutest notecards.  I bought my writing pen on our cruise ship that we were on last year.  It has Swarovski Crystals in it.  I just couldn’t leave it on the ship!

Last on my list today is my Ningxia Red that I have been drinking each morning for the past two years.  Did you notice my perfume crystal clock?  I love that thing.  My Jim gave it to me for Christmas.  It’s from ZGallerie (my favorite shop)  Anyway, back to the Ningxia Red.  I order this from Young Living Essential Oils.  I’ve been using the oils for a long time now and decided to try the drink and it gives me energy and I honestly believe it builds my immunities because I haven’t really had a cold or anything since I’ve been drinking it.  I’m almost scared to say that.  Watch me get sick tomorrow.  Under my picture I will post info of what is in this drink and what it’s benefits are.

*Add a daily shot of NingXia Red® to your diet to enjoy the benefits of this powerful, whole-body supplement. This sweet and tangy drink’s formula includes wolfberry, which is touted for its health benefits. Also featuring plum, aronia, cherry, blueberry, and pomegranate juices and extracts, Young Living’s NingXia Red is packed with superfoods to support overall wellness.

In addition to these antioxidant ingredients, NingXia Red’s formula includes pure vanilla extract and Lemon, Orange, Yuzu, and Tangerine essential oils for a great-tasting, healthy treat.*

Young Living NingXia Red benefits include support for energy levels, normal cellular function, and whole-body and normal eye health. A daily shot of 2–4 ounces helps support overall wellness with powerful antioxidants.

Feel free to click here to go to my Pinterest page with essential oil ideas.

I am a member of Young Living, and if you are interested in joining, let me know and I can get you the info.  I am a member only to purchase my own products.  I’m trying to learn more about essential oil use.

There you go, a few of my favorite things…..I hope you enjoyed and if you try anything and it works for you, I would love to hear about it!

Top 5 Books That Made A Difference In Me!

Blog Challenge #14:

The 5 books that have impacted you the most.

Here are my Top 5 Books that have impacted my life the most:

bible
#1 God’s Word! This book has made the biggest impact on my life. How could I not include this on my list? The Bible that I am currently using is the Study Bible for Women with Devotionals by Rhonda Kelley. I love reading out of this Bible!

Fasc. Girl
#2 – When I was about 15, I worked in a snack shop at an office building downtown while the owner friend was on vacation. He had a rack of books and I picked this book up and read the entire book in a couple of days. It was an eye opener for me.. It taught me how a young girl was to conduct her life in her teen years. I always look back on this as the first book that made a difference in my life as a young girl!

two from
#3 – Two From Galilee by Marjorie Holmes. When I was 16, I volunteered in a nursing home. A gentleman gave me this book and asked me to please read it. I took it home and read it and oh, how I loved this book. It is a fiction book and it took me back to the life of Mary and Joseph during their courtship to the birth of Christ. It gave me such a clear picture of this time in history. Loved it!

sidetracked
#4 – Sidetracked Home Executives. As a young wife and mom I was struggling with organization and keeping up with my home duties. I found this book while browsing in a book store one day and while learning how to bring order to my home, I laughed my way through the book. These sisters are a hoot! I actually made the file that they recommend. I followed the book to a T, until I had it down pat and formed my own way of doing things.

a woman
#5 – A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George! The first time I read this book, I fell in love with the way Elizabeth writes and her heart for women living a life for Christ. This book encouraged me to have a home that glorified God. Since then, I have bought and read all of her books and studies. Matter of fact, I just bought her latest this past week, 15 Verses to Pray for Your Husband! I don’t know where I would be without the teaching of Elizabeth George!

holy
Bonus! #6 – Personal Holiness Bible Study by Rhonda Kelley! This study was such a blessing to me! I was encouraged and challenged by this study! Just had to share one more!

If you are interested in any of these books, I made a link in my sidebar that will take you to Amazon to read more about each of these books!

Do you have some books that have impacted your life?  I have many, but these pop out as special books to me!

My Bucket List!

Blog-tember Challenge #10.  Brave Love Blog has 31 challenges for bloggers during the month of September and I decided I would accept the challenge. I have actually stuck with it for 10 days so far!   If anything, it has helped me to be consistent in writing daily.  It also has helped me to think outside of the box a little bit.

Today’s challenge is…..Share 10 items from my Bucket List.

I bought a journal recently that is made to make a list of things that I want to do and accomplish.  I haven’t really put that much in it yet.  As of today, I will get started in making my list in my journal.

Here are 10 items to get started with:

1.  Visit Victoria, B.C.

2.  Visit Carmel By the Sea in California.

3.  Have my Homeschool Mom Book published.

4.  Finish writing my book on Women’s Ministry.

5.  Begin my book that is in my brain but haven’t started it yet.

6.  Lose the weight that I’m wanting to lose!!!!!

7.  Go to NYC during Christmas.

8.  Play Tennis. (regularly)

9.  I would love to form a scholarship program for fatherless girls that want to go to a Christian College.

Do you have a Bucket List?  Have you crossed anything off of it?

My iPod Music

Blog Challenge #5 – Put your iTunes/music player on shuffle and share the first 10 songs that play.

IMG_7654

I have a iPod and I’ve loaded music on it, but I rarely listen to it.  When I do, I spend half the time skipping around and telling myself that I need to organize it and delete some things.

Right now as I’m typing this we have K-Love playing on the speakers through out the house and the song called, Forever, by Kari Jobe is playing.  It gives me chill bumps when I listen to it.    I would encourage you to listen to it if you can.  I usually have to stop and concentrate on the song when it comes on!

When I’m in the car I have Sirius Radio and my favorite stations are Fox News, don’t judge me, and The Message, EnLighten, which is a Southern Gospel station and…..are you ready…..the Elvis Station.  Yep, Elvis.  Can’t help it.  When nothing is on that I want to listen to, I may skip over to the 60’s or 70’s channel.

I don’t have my iPod with me, so I guess I can’t list my 10 songs that show up.  I have some music on my phone that I never listen to either and I tried to do the shuffle thing and I couldn’t figure it out.  I guess I’m not only computer challenged, I’m phone challenged.

The song called Flawless, by Mercy Me just came on!  Must go listen!  Singing of God’s Amazing Grace!

Maybe, I’ll come through on the next challenge.

Blessings on your day!

My Passion

Today’s Challenge from Brave Love Blog is…What are You Passionate About?

Again, something for me to really think about.  For someone like me who loves so many different things and gets excited at things like when I walk into an awesome boutique or furniture store, I have to compose myself and breathe while trying to not get too excited. (I know, shallow, right?)

Or, when I hear of something on the news that is happening in our world today and I get so angry and upset that children can be treated the way they are in this world; I stop myself from asking my husband if we can sell out and go rescue abused children.

I’ve even thought seriously of running for President…that will never happen, but I have actually pictured myself on the campaign trail asking for votes! I love my country!

How about when I make something and it turns out just right, I get so excited, I want to show the world. I love creating!

When working in women’s ministry and seeing women’s lives change and getting excited about what God has for them, I get excited! I love women’s ministry.

Growing up in a single parent home like I did and being the oldest brings up much love and respect for my mom and my brothers.  I am passionate about my family.

I love being around my grandchildren…….I love looking into their eyes and seeing their expressions as they talk and listening to their  little voices….I tell them I could squeeze them in two, they are so adorable. (strange saying, I grew up with many sayings that my mom always said to me)  In other words, I’m passionate about my grand babies!

A day doesn’t go by that I don’t think and pray for my two children.  I loved being a mom to those two sweet kids.  So many memories and I’m looking forward to making more memories as they are each now married to people that I love very much.  I’m passionate about them and watching them as they raise their families.

How blessed I am to have the husband that I do.  We have been married for 35 years and life has definitely not been dull.  I’ve watched him live his life in an honorable way.   We spent the first 20 years of our marriage in full time ministry.  Those were some of the sweetest times and then also some of the hardest times, both financially and through hurtful people.  He never wavered or lost his faith in people and especially God.  He loves his children and grandchildren greatly.  He loves me!   I have the utmost respect and love for this man.  I am passionate about him!

So, I thought about all of that and how those are some of my passions.  If I had to choose what I am MOST passionate about it would have to be……..

My Savior!  I gave my life to him when I was 14.  My life changed 100%.  My home changed.  My world changed.  I shudder to think where I would be today with Him.

All of the above that I mentioned that I am passionate about, I wouldn’t have today, if it were not for Jesus Christ!  I want everyone to know Him like I know Him.  I love being around people that love Him like I do!  I don’t want to lose that passion.

The reason for my blog, His Heart, My Desire, is to share and encourage how to strive to have a perfect heart in every season of life that we have as women of God.  This is a place to share His story and my story.

I have a passion to have a heart like His!
