Jim and I have been married for 44 years.  I can’t believe it! What a wonderful life it has been. We served in full-time ministry for the first 18 years of our marriage. The last 26 years we have had our own business and the Lord has blessed in so many ways. I am very thankful for those years that God used us in full-time ministry, but what a joy it has been to serve Him in this latest journey.

We have two precious kiddos, Patti and Nathan. We began the homeschool adventure when Patti began first grade. Nathan started his homeschool life in third grade. After 15 years as a homeschool mom,  Patti and Nathan graduated from Dillow Christian Academy.

Patti is married to a wonderful man, Rodrick. They have six  of the cutest kids ever! What a precious family they are and to see them serve the Lord in their church and in their home is a blessing.  Such a joy to watch Patti as a sweet wife and mommy. Patti has always wanted to be a wife and mother.  She has always been smart, fun and beautiful inside and out. We named Patti after my mom and her name means “Of Noble Character,” which fits perfectly.  Rodrick is not only successful in his own business, but as a husband and father.  He has a fun sense of humor to add  to his many talents.

Nathan married sweet Sarah 8 years ago and what fun this past year has been as they had their first cutie pie.  He is as adorable can be!  Nathan has his own animation studio as well as working at a major animation studio.  Nathan is also an accomplished guitarist.  I love his kind and compassionate heart.  Those that have Nathan as a friend, have a loyal and faithful friend.  We named him after Nathan, David’s friend in the Old Testament, which fits him perfectly.  His name means “Gift of God.”   Sarah has a degree in Nutrition and is an accomplished seamstress and can design and create the most beautiful window treatments, bedding, pillows…you name it!  All the while being an incredible cook! Now she is an amazing mom to add to her resume!

Someone that is very important in my life, is my mom.  She is my hero!  I could write an entire book on what she means to me.  I’m sure you will read about her throughout  my blog.

Me? I love being a wife, mom and Mimi! Home is my favorite place to be. Caring for my home is my love; everything from organizing to decorating. Notice I didn’t say cooking. Cooking is not one of my strong points. I try, but it’s just not that great. I do love my kitchen though. Cookbooks, aprons, dishes, cookware, gadgets etc. are some of my favorite things. I don’t understand either, so what can I say.  I love to shop and kitchen stores are at the top of my list….I know, interesting isn’t it?

A couple of years ago,  we decided to glass in our breakfast patio.  After a lot of thought on what to do with the little room right off our kitchen, we came up with a plan.  Welcome to “Beverly’s Little Tea Room!”  I now enjoy hosting family and friends and even a few people that I’ve never met that wanted to enjoy the experience of a  tea room.  I’m enjoying stepping out of my box and learning to make tea sandwiches, scones, lemon curd and little sweet treats along with the art of making a cup of tea of so many amazing flavors.  I have to admit, my very favorite part is decorating my little tea room for the various holidays or for whatever occasion might be happening when I host a tea.  Join me on my adventures on my blog as I share my tea room with you.

I recently was certified by Shari Braendel of Style By Color as a Color and Style Consultant.  I look forward to sharing with you all things color and fashion.

The last few years I have been interested in writing. I have been published in a few magazines and have been “working” on my book and have other book ideas. Along with writing comes the opportunity to speak to various women’s groups. I would much rather write than speak, but I have been honored to speak when the Lord leads.  I’ve been blogging since 2007 and love it.  I love sharing whatever I feel the Lord is nudging me to share as well as just fun things that catch my eye.

Women’s Ministry was a huge part of my life for many years.   After serving as Women’s Ministry Director at my church for nine years, I stepped down so other’s may enjoy that blessing.  At the beginning of getting a women’s ministry off the ground, I had the opportunity to begin a Ladies Bible Class, which I loved just as much.  I miss serving in that capacity terribly, but, I know God has a plan in mind.  My heart has always been to see women become strong in their faith and being Mighty Women of God and raise their children to walk in God’s perfect will.  I now enjoy writing about the ins and outs of starting and being involved in women’s ministry.

I love life and want to live it to the fullest. At the same time, I look forward to that day when I get to see my Savior face to face.  I hope you have that peace as well.  If not, feel free to click over to this post and read how you can have that assurance of knowing Jesus personally.

I hope you will subscribe to my blog and follow along.  I love to hear from readers  through comments on my blog or through email.  My favorite story is a few years ago, I was in a nearby town and a lady stopped me and asked if I were Beverly, I said “yes, I am” and she said, “I read your blog and love it and its so good to meet you.”  What fun that was and amazing that she recognized me by that little bitty picture on my profile. She was a precious lady.

Thank you for following me on my adventures and thoughts!

Because of Christ,

Beverly
