Hannah – A Passionate Hope

Are you looking for something to read this weekend? I may have just the book for you! I know I’ve shared with you before how reading fiction is out of the box for me. I love reading non-fiction and I can probably count on one hand how many fiction books I have on my shelf right now. As a teen someone gave me a book called “Two From Galilee” by Marjorie Holmes. I was new to the Christian reading world. I fell in love with the story of Mary and Joseph after reading this book. Of course, I always loved…
Do You Send Notes of Encouragement?

I have been cleaning out some files and getting rid of things like crazy lately. I came across a file that I had stuffed notes and letters in while serving in women’s ministry for several years. I just couldn’t part with them. So many were so kind and so thoughtful, I just couldn’t toss them. I sat down today and read through them. I remember reading many of these when I received them and they touched me. But, today, my heart was extremely tender and I wept as I went through them and even laughed with some of the funny…
Is Your Bible Study Plan Working?

Today, I wanted to share with you what is working for me right now as far as my daily quiet time. Well, I get up at 5 a.m. and study and pray for about two hours before my morning run. NOT REALLY! I’m teasing you. When I was a young wife and mom, I attended a few women’s conferences, Bible studies and workshops that usually would share how important it was to get up early in the morning to pray and study my scriptures before my family got up. I would try and just couldn’t keep up. I went for…
My Billy Graham Story…

I’m sure you heard that Rev. Billy Graham passed away last week at the age of 99. Were you familiar with him? Do you have a Billy Graham story? So many people do. Something that my husband and I always say when we saw him on an interview or if we heard he met with a US President or a celebrity, is we know that whomever he was speaking with, would hear the gospel in a simple, easy and non-intimidating way. Wouldn’t you love to be known as a person that people always knew that they could count on you…
Need Ideas for Your Women’s Ministry?

Here we are for our final post on ideas for women’s ministry. I just finished going through my last file folder filled with everything from newsletters, brochures, typed messages, thank you notes and everything in between. I found things that I had forgotten about and what fun it was to reminisce all those sweet memories. I did hang on to a few things that I just couldn’t let go of. I’m saving things like newsletters, newspaper clippings, pictures and some videos of some event promotions. I’ll check back on them in a year or so and maybe I will let…
Ideas for Women’s Ministry Events
Posted on
While cleaning out my files and discarding papers, notes and many memories of my time volunteering in our women’s ministry, I decided to just make a list of the many events that our ministry held for our church and our community. I hope they will inspire you to step out and take the risk of planning some events that will be an encouragement to your ladies. I am one of those that believes you can have fun with things that women enjoy and always share the gospel at each event. I had a friend that said “bring them for the…
