New Year, New Blog!
Posted on
This is my 9th year of blogging! I started my blog when I began writing for some magazines and began working on my book idea. I actually started three blogs. One for writing, one for Homeschooling and the other for Women’s Ministry. I later decided it was best to combine all on one blog. I wasn’t keeping up very well. Even with one blog, I have to stay focused. If you have a blog or maybe you are thinking of starting one, I hope I can inspire you to go for it! I have several blogs that I love to…
Hill Country Home Tour (Part 2)

We are continuing on with the tour of our get-away home in the Hill Country. If you missed part one, you can click here to view. I’m still tweaking on some things and we have a couple of rooms that we haven’t even started on yet, but for now, join me for a quick stroll through the house. *Notice the deer in the yard? There are always deer walking around. They are very cute! I always try to talk very kind to them. Since I accidentally killed one of their friends a few years ago, I don’t want to upset…
Focus on Our Children

Yesterday someone shared a video on Facebook of a child having a really pitiful meltdown. This child was about 8 or 9 years old. I’m thinking the person videoing and then posting this scene thought they were helping the child by embarrassing them in showing the world their temper tantrum. Several comments were made on how this child needed a spanking, etc. As I watched, my heart hurt for this young boy. He definitely needed some attention. Videoing him and then putting it on social media was not the attention he needed. Yes, I do know what it’s like to…
Focus in 2016

Last year was my first year to have a word that I would use as a guide for the year. I chose the word, Intentional. I wanted to be more intentional in my daily living and on the goals that I had set for myself. I had a couple of goals that I didn’t do too well on. I don’t even think I thought of my word and those goals slipped by and now here I am in 2016 wondering what went wrong. In thinking about what my word would be for 2016, I figured I would just use the…

#5 – Don’t Make Me Angry!
Posted on
“The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.” Psalm 145:8 I grew up around an Uncle that was known for his quick temper. He could be happy and jolly and if one word or action was done that he didn’t like, he snapped. He would go into a fit of anger. He would slam things around and say mean things. I was extremely shy growing up and it seemed about the time I would feel comfortable around my Uncle and be myself, I would make him mad by not talking…
