Your Kindness Is Showing
I see you! I see how you show kindness in the littlest of ways and in very large ways. You don’t do it to be noticed or to be thanked. You do it because you have a beautiful heart!
You are the woman of God who is always looking for a way to encourage someone. It may be on your social media pages and especially when you see someone face to face. You are the one who is always aware of others around you. You can spot someone when they are alone and you draw them in and introduce them to your friends. When you meet someone new you invite them to lunch with your friends and watch new friendships form without jealousy.
You are the woman of God who is interested in family members, yes, even your in-laws. You don’t want anyone to ever feel like they are a nobody and not worth your time. You look for ways to stay in touch.
When you are at church, you don’t just go sit down and stare straight ahead and only speak to the pillar of the assembly, you look around and introduce yourself to those around you whether they are a visitor, a younger person, an older person and even someone that doesn’t look just like you. You encourage your pastor and other ministry leaders. You may even send notes to various people throughout the week. You are always aware of who is missing and you check on them to see if all is well. Not because you are nosey or judgmental but because you truly care about them.
We all have someone that tends to rub us the wrong way. They may be doing it intentionally or you may not like the way they wear their hair. Yes, sadly there are people like that. But instead of gossiping and trying to get everyone else to dislike this person you dislike, you keep it to yourself and you examine your heart and learn to love and accept this person that just isn’t your cup of tea. When you do a heart check, you probably realized you really did like this person and that you just misjudged them.
All this to say, I know who you are. You are a kind and gracious woman of God. Don’t let the world harden your heart. Stay strong, stay kind, stay compassionate…be an encourager and teach your children the same. Don’t you love it when you see a mom who teaches her sons and daughters what kindness really is by her actions and teaching.
When the world seems so dark, lonely and scary and full of hate, all I have to do is look at you and I’m reminded that there are many just like you who have a beautiful heart and it shows oh, so bright.
In my quiet time this morning, I was in I Samuel and this verse spoke to me louder than it has in a while.
“For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7
My Bible that I’m using now has devotionals throughout by Elizabeth George. I loved the prayer that went with this topic.
“Lord, teach me to focus on inward beauty. Let my good works and kindness be what people notice first about me. Help me to take care of my heart first thing each day. Then, with my heart filled with Your Word and Your goodness, I can bless others and share Your loveliness with those I encounter. Amen.”
I see your kindness and God sees the beauty in your heart. You make the world a better place; don’t give up.
Until next time….

I see you in this post, Beverly. What a beautiful testimony! I love Elizabeth George’s prayer, too. Thanks for sharing it here. It is definitely something I need to pray for every day!
Hi Karin! That’s sweet of you to say. My kindness might have failed when I was driving home and a truck honked at me when I switched lanes and as he sped around me… I honked back. I need to work on that one for sure. I need to not let rude drivers bother me; always working on that one. Thank you for your sweet comment!
