Weight Loss Plan for 2023

Happy Weight Loss Year!

My dream is to come to a New Year and weight loss is not on my goal list for the year. To be the person that doesn’t have this issue would be so nice. I’ve shared my weight loss goals a couple of times before. I got tickled when reading over my last one which was 2020. Okay, maybe I wasn’t tickled….I was amazed at what happened after I got all set up to lose my extra fluff. 2020 was a crazy year as you know. I will share the links at the bottom of this email to those stories of weight loss attempts in case you are interested.

As one of my favorite sayings goes….That’s so yesterday! Only the Lord knows what this year holds for each one of us. I believe that we are to live for today and not worry about tomorrow. It is a blessing if we have one more day and as a Believer it is a blessing to step into the presence of our Savior when our time is done on this earth. Let’s live each day to the fullest and as if it’s our last. That’s so easy to say and sometimes hard to do when we get tired and overwhelmed. You get the point, I’m sure.

This is the time of year with all the commercials about weight loss programs. Yes, I actually thought about trying some of them. I made a list of things that I have tried and failed. I would share that with you but we need to get straight to my plan. When I say tried……that means I ordered it, paid for it, got set up and even went to a couple of meetings etc., but…..I didn’t DO them. I went back to my ways after maybe 2 days. See, my problem is, I enjoy life and I love just living life like I don’t have any issues with fluff. Oh wait, I remember when I go clothes shopping or when I’m uncomfortable in my clothes or I want to do something that would require being on the slim side. Then I want to do something about it….then I get comfortable and forget about it all again. Oh, there is the dreaded pictures. That will make me say, I really do need to get busy…but, then you can hide from the camera for awhile and not think about it. The list goes on and on.

Instead of ordering another program, I said, “Beverly, you have read every book, every plan and every motivational program there is, you know what to do. The key is to DO SOMETHING!” So here I am. I’m ready to do something. 2023 has to be the year to get this done and over with. (those words sound so familiar) I thought at one time, why do I care? Just live and not worry about it all. The deal is, I do worry about it. First of all for my health and then I also know how much better I feel physically and mentally when I’m not carrying around extra fluff.

So, are you with me? If you are, great! I’m going to share my plan here today and then if you are interested send me an email that you are in with me and I will send out a regular email to our group with a devotional and tips to keep on keeping on. See, you are helping me to stay with it and hopefully, I am helping you. We got this. On my actual blog I will share updates here and there, but, to stay motivated and to get this done you need to be on the email list. I have some BIG plans for those of us participating. You don’t want to miss out if you are serious about getting to your goal!

Beverly’s TRANSFORMATION Weight Loss Plan

Commit to 6 weeks (6 weeks goes by so fast, doesn’t it? Think what can be accomplished in 6 weeks! 42 Days! A month and a 1/2. Piece of cake. I mean… piece of a carrot! πŸ˜‰

Weigh on first day you begin, then put the scale away. We won’t weigh again until 6 weeks is up, then on to phase 2.

Take your measurements.

This is a good time to organize and clean out your pantry. All those candy stashes should be taken out. Anything that tempts you, get rid of.

Eliminate all sugar and flour products (for 6 weeks) It can be done. Just about everything has sugar in it. When purchasing items make sure sugar is listed as the 5th or more ingredient. If it’s in the first 5 ingredients, don’t use it.

Keep track of every solid thing you eat and record it.

Keep your calories to 1,200-1,500 calories/day. This will be fairly easy when you aren’t loading up on carbs. *I’m doing 1,200/day.

Drink 10 glasses of water/day.

Exercise. Find something that you can do and enjoy. I personally can’t think of one exercise I enjoy, but I will be doing walking as my main form of exercise. I am in serious need of building muscles. I lost a lot of muscle in 2020 and that’s not a good thing! So, I’m working on that area. I’ll share more as we go.

I love the idea of intermittent fasting. It’s really good for your body and I will be doing” IF.” 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. are my eating times. I realize some aren’t able to do that, so that choice is yours on that one. I will share more about it over the next 6 weeks.

How does that sound? Are you with me? If you want to be on my motivational email list, let me know. The first email is on setting your goal weight and setting up your journal for your new 6 week journey. I’m excited…..Let’s Do This!

Always remember, we are daughters of the King! He loves us just as we are. We are just trying to be healthy and fit in order to accomplish more for Him! (and our families)
