The Book
God’s Love Letter To You
I hope that you will make 2013 the year that you fall in love with Christ as never before. The key to this is to read His love letter to you.
When I became a Christian at the age of 14, I was given my first Bible ever as a Christmas present. I began reading the book of John. I tried to read it each day. Yes, there were some things that I didn’t understand, but I kept reading. As time went on, I learned how to study my Bible and memorized scripture that spoke to my heart in a special way.
Now, 39 years later (wow, that’s scary) I am still reading it and I challenge myself with scripture memorization and various topics of study.
One of my favorites is the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is filled with so much wisdom. There are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs, so I read the chapter that corresponds with the date. Such as, today is January 3rd, so I read Proverbs chapter 3.
A couple of years ago, I found a reading plan and have followed it since then.
Each day read:
A chapter in Proverbs
A chapter in the Psalms
A chapter in the Gospels *go through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and start over when you get to the end of John.
A chapter in the Old Testament
A chapter in the New Testament
With social media being such a big part of our culture and daily life, we have to be careful to not be more interested in what someone’s status is for the moment than what God wants to speak to us about today.
I read a a quote recently that said,
Before you open Face Book, make sure you open God’s Book.
This is something that I have to be careful of and I am going to make a better effort this year to read what God wants me to know for the day before I check in online.
This is how we fall in love with the one who loves us more than anyone can ever imagine.
Will you make it your goal this year, to get into God’s Word and read about the one who loves you more than you could ever imagine?
Each Friday, I will post a scripture that spoke to me the most during that week and why. I do hope this will be an encouragement to you.
Have a great Friday!

What a great post, Beverly! I was just thinking last night that I need to “dig a little deeper” this year. I look forward to what you have to share!
Hi! I would really like to use this plan. Do you know of anywhere online where a printable plan of this is? So I could mark as I go? I have looked but haven’t been able to find any. My email is mizroady@yahoo.com
Thank you!
