His Heart, My Desire

Loving Llfe While Striving For A Heart Like His

Homeschooling

I began homeschooling our daughter, Patti, when she was in the first grade. Nathan was then 3 years old. When Nathan reached third grade, I began homeschooling him as well. I loved everything about homeschooling. Now that Patti is 24 and Nate is 21, I am so thankful for those years. They both graduated from Dillow Christian Academy, which is the name we gave our school many years ago. Now Patti will be homeschooling her little April who is almost 4. They will begin next year for her kindergarten year. She is already having a learning/craft time with her each day. April loves to learn. I can’t wait to see what the Lord does in the lives of Patti and her sweet family!

Today, I lead a Homeschool Moms Support Group through our church. Of course, you don’t have to be a member of our church to join in on this group. I LOVE this group of moms. They are so precious. I look forward to seeing them each month and cheering them on and giving them tools that I have discovered or that I used myself in the homeschooling years. These moms have so much insight. What a joy and a priviledge it is to know these ladies.

What a blessing it is that you didn’t quit when you were through homeschooling your kids! I’m sure everyone values your input and wisdom. And talk about the trickle-down theory – the wisdom you impart will go on for years.

On behalf of all the homeschooled kids everywhere, thanks so much.
