Daily Wisdom….

We can all use a daily dose of wisdom.  The perfect place to find that wisdom is in the book of Proverbs.  For many years, I have been reading a chapter a day from this book in my Bible.  There are 31 chapters and since there are usually 31 days in a month, it is easy to remember where to read each day.  After all these years, I will always find something new each day that I didn’t notice before or it means something more to me due to life’s happenings.

Each day this week, I will take one verse from that day’s reading and share.  Today is February 13th, so let’s read Proverbs 13….

The verse that popped out to me today was:

“He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But, the companion of fools will be destroyed.”  (v.20)

As a teen and a new Christian, I remember always being told, “You are who you hang around with.”  I’m thankful that I took that to heart and was careful with who I spent my time and patterned my life after.

If you want to know who and what your child is like, look at their friends.

That goes for us as well, if you want to be an inspiration, be around inspiring people.

If you want to be successful, be around successful people.

If you want to be a kind person, be around kind people.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. 🙂

*If you want to hear from God today, get into the Word of God and you will hear Him.  He loves you and I more than we will ever be able to comprehend and He has so much to say to us.

  1. Beverly this is a wonderful post. Proverbs has always been my favorite book of the Bible. My mother’s favorite verses were Proverbs 3:5-6. My husband is being ordained as a Deacon on Sunday; and the Proverbs 31 woman is what I aspire to be. Thanks for the inspiration!
