Paris Hilton Quote

“In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make.” – Paris Hilton, June 4, 2007

Interesting. I must have been in the dark when Paris Hilton was making her mark on society. I still haven’t figured out what she has done to become such a celebrity that the news media would spend so much time on her. After catching up on the news of her jail sentencing, I have some compassion for her. By her lifestyle, it is obvious she needs Christ in her life. I pray that somehow, someway, there will be someone that can share His love with her. She needs a life change and a Savior, just like the rest of us.

And let’s pray that she does take an active role in her decisions…………whatever that means. 🙂

Memorial Day Fun

For Memorial Day we all went to Patti and Rodrick’s for grilled burgers and hot dogs.

April loves to swing!

Home Sweet Home

Jim and I got in from our vacation to Hawaii this week. What a beautiful place! I am not really a water person, but the ocean was absolutely beautiful. We chartered a boat for 4 hours one day and Jim snorkled with our friends, Shelby and Alicia, that met us over there. I watched from the boat. I just can’t imagine floating in the water with a mask on and breathing through a tube. I can’t breathe just thinking about it. Not to mention, the stuff that is in the water; eeeekkkksss! I would rather view it from the top, in the boat. 🙂 Everyone had fun though. The highlight of my day was driving the boat. I have never driven a boat and our boat captain asked me to take over. I was nervous at first and then I enjoyed it. So if you want to go snorkling, I will drive you. We saw some dolphins that day and from what I could tell, they were cute. That was just one day of a week filled with beauty and fun!

More later,

About Me

Jim and I have been married for 34 years.  I can’t believe it! What a wonderful life it has been. We served in full-time ministry for the first 20 years of our marriage. The last fourteen years we have had our own business and the Lord has blessed so much in so many ways. I am very thankful for those years that God used us in full-time ministry, but what a joy it has been to serve Him in this new journey.

We have two precious kiddos, Patti and Nathan. We began the homeschool adventure when Patti began first grade.  After 15 years as a homeschool mom,  Patti and Nathan graduated from Dillow Christian Academy.

Patti is married to a wonderful man, Rodrick. They have four of the cutest kids on earth, April, Oliver, Zoe and Graham and number 5 will be here this year! What a precious family they are and to see them serve the Lord in their church and in their home is a blessing.  It is a joy to watch Patti as a precious wife and mommy. Rodrick is not only successful in his own business, but as a husband and father.

Nathan is an absolute joy to our lives! He is 28 and has his own animation studio as well as working on an animated movie that will be in theaters this year.   Nathan is also an accomplished electric guitarist.

Someone that is very important in my life, is my mom.  She is my hero!  I could write an entire book on what she means to me.

Me? I love being a wife, mom and Mimi! Home is my favorite place to be. Caring for my home is my love; everything from organizing to decorating. Notice I didn’t say cooking. Cooking is not one of my strong points. I try, but it’s just not that great. I do love my kitchen though. Cookbooks, aprons, dishes, cookware, gadgets etc. are some of my favorite things. I don’t understand either, so what can I say.

I love to shop. As strange as it may sound, kitchen stores are at the top of the list. I don’t understand that either.

The last few years I have been interested in writing. I have been published in a few magazines and have been “working” on my book and have other book ideas. Some day I will get there. I just find so many other fun things to do and keep putting the book on the back burner. I’ll get there though!

Women’s Ministry has been a part of my life the last 9 years and recently stepped down as Women’s Ministry Director to spend more time writing.  I have a desire to see women reach their full potential and to live in peace as a woman after God’s own heart!  There is nothing greater than seeing a godly woman who loves her husband, children, home and serves her Lord with peace and contentment and mentors that love to others.

I love life and want to live it to the fullest. At the same time, I look forward to that day when I get to see my Savior face to face.
