A Southern Lady

My Mom and I attended a Southern Lady Magazine Celebration. We have both read this magazine for years and love it!

We stayed at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas and attended a luncheon, two dinners and a brunch. The food was delicious. Each time we went to our seat at our table, was a gift such as a yummy smelling candle, a beautiful silver pen and small server. The last evening we received a beautiful set of ceramic place cards.

Naomi Judd was the keynote speaker along with Dorthea Johnson, who is founder of The Protocol School of Washington on Etiquette. We also saw workshops on floral decor and estate jewelry. My favorite was the shopping mall with all things Southern, such as cameo jewelry, recipe books, teapot lamps, silver decor items, tea items and even a make up booth by Mark Neiman. Oh, and one of my favorite designers, Taylor G had a fashion show. I can’t forget, a lady that was absolutely hilarious, we laughed at her stories till we hurt, Jeane Robertson. If you ever have a chance to hear her, you must!

Needless to say, Mom and I had a blast. We had fun dressing up for each event and made some new friends and laughed at ourselves alot.

If you haven’t ever read Southern Lady Magazine, I highly recommend it.
